Nice post about one of Todd’s more underrated albums. Personally, my faves off that album have always been “Wailing Wall,” “Parole,” and “Boat on the Charles.” Excellent album from 1971, pre – Something/Anything?

Lester Bangs is dead.

Some days I wake up in the morning, look myself in the mirror, and wonder why Todd Rundgren is not more popular then he is. Sure you might be able to recognize a few of his songs from various soundtracks and compilations (Hello, It’s Me or Bang on a Drum immediately spring to mind), and he certainly has a devoted following from those who are aware of his unique talent. But I can’t help feel that he’s one of the most underrated song writers ever.

Runt: The Ballad of Todd Rundgren was made during a curious time in Todd’s career.
